Calling all London Lubbers, free tomorrow night?

Greetings all from the depth of the Northern Thai New Year festival, commonly known as Songkran and among Chiang Saen's best kept secrets - I've taken a couple of minutes away from the ubiquitous water fight (with the eles in the river, at the Front Gate, along all roads and later, again with the eles on the beach and at the parade) to give those London based folks an idea for something to do tomorrow night, however, if you find yourself in our locale and want to join in the fun, aside from the eles being in the river (which, let's face it, happens everyday) we will be:

14th April - 2pm - eles at the Anantara Front Gate with all staff to take the waterfight to the travelling public in their pick-ups.

15th April - afternoon - Chiang Saen beach and in the mighty Mekong - an outreach programme to give local folks some time with the eles and a chance to get up close and personal.

16th April - 3pm - the climax of it all, the Chiang Saen parade, we all dress up in our best uniforms and get thoroughly soaked as we waterfight our way down main street.

But all of that is less a reason for writing, more an excuse for not writing, for those of you in sunny London I cannot recommend that you go and throw a bucket of water over a complete stranger - particularly not one on the back of a speeding motorbike - but I can recommend that you travel along to The Asia House tomorrow (15th, 6.45pm) evening to hear a talk by friend Srilal entitled "Tranquil Footsteps - Elephants of Sri Lanka".
