G'day Mate (an Aussie V.C.R. date)
...before she appealed to us to come and live here Pumpui's Mum, K. Varunee, was part of the one of the extended families whose elephants were chosen to go to Taronga Zoo in Sydney, being the most photogenic she was chosen to take part in a story culminating in the birth of Luk Chai - the first ele to be born in Sydney from Artificial Insemination.
We didn't know where she'd gone until one of the keepers called to say they'd seen her rock up in Sydney.
The T.V. show is airing in the city on Saturday, so, for fans of K. Varunee, K. Pom and Tony, Pumpui & Chok (all of whom stayed behind when she took to the big city) don't forget to grab a stubby, pop a shrimp on the barbie, slip off your thongs, slap a Pom and root for (erm... no, sorry, that's English, I mean support) K. Varunee...

Can't believe I have to rely on you, John, for the heads up on Aussie TV! Wish I was home to see Luk Chai. Not to be biased or anything but he is THE world's cutest chang noi, or at least the cutest in the southern hemisphere ;o)

Thanks John for the tip-off. Here in Melbourne our heart-strings were tugged and tears were shed as we watched beautiful K.Varunee and her family reunited with their loved ones.
