Shocking pink and zippy straps (the girls go up in the world)

"Well, well, well" you must be saying "look what the cat dragged in, he doesn't write for 66 days (or so my little widget tells me) and then turns up with that look on his face, what could possibly drag him back to the fold, nowadays we only hear from him when he's broke or needs a favour, must be trying to sell us something."

Guilty, I'm afraid, as charged, though my long absence has had more to do with the intensity of projects than the lack of things to write about, I am, however, here to sell you something.

First the Casadei's, then the Blahniks and now, thanks to the good graces of Four Seasons Tented Camp but especially Perry and Lyn Butler and Footcandy, Christian Louboutin has taken it upon himself to design a shoe especially for our eles.

He checked with Yuki about the preferred design but may have a few issues with size, when her pair finally turned up in the mailbox after an anxious wait she was so excited to try them on, but, it turns out she may have to settle for seeing them on friends...

...hmmm, might fit the trunk...

...nope, you try 'em....

...possibly more like it, but I wouldn't want to be in the shoes of anyone who made Yuki jealous.

JUNGLE FASHION - ALL GOOD THINGS COME IN THREES

    CHRISTIAN LOUBOUTIN DESIGNS SHOE FOR

    GOLDEN TRIANGLE ELEPHANT CHARITY

Golden Triangle, March 2009: First Casadei, then Manolo Blahnik, and now Christian Louboutin have stepped up to the plate to help raise money for the Golden Triangle Asian Elephant Foundation (GTAEF) conservation project in Northern Thailand.

Exclusively designed for Footcandy Shoes, Christian Louboutin designed an ankle strap sandal ‘Rodita’ with a zipped up twist!  This zipper strappy sandal will surely turn heads this season. He chose a true color that would surely represent Footcandy; pink! The sandal itself is made of fabric with zipper accents throughout the sandal and is lined in pink leather in the inside. It has a pink leather buckle closure on the ankle strap and a covered pink leather 4 3/4 inch heel.  It has a 1 inch platform covered in fabric with a zipper through the platform, and of course his signature red sole.  Only 100 pairs are being made and will be sold exclusively at Footcandy Shoe Stores in California but can be shipped anywhere in the world. It retails at $795 with proceeds going to the GTAEF conservation project.

Initially conceived by laceName w:st="on">NapalaceName> laceType w:st="on">ValleylaceType> vintner Perry Butler and his wife Carolyn, owner of Footcandy Shoe stores, the idea was born when the couple visited Four Seasons Tented Camp in 2006 and immediately fell in love with the resident adopted elephants and were looking for ways to contribute to the Camp’s charity project. Perry for his part introduced a special Juslyn Vineyard ‘Rescue’ label in support of the Foundation. The 2001 Napa Blend, a Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc blend is rated at 90 Parker points. The wine is available in a set of three 750 ml bottles and 1.5l bottles and can be shipped anywhere in the US and select countries overseas.

Through innovative support like this, the GTAEF has been able to rescue eleven baby and young adult elephants off Thai city streets to provide them with a safe and humane environment in the jungles of Northern Thailand’s Golden Triangle.

The ‘Rodita’ is available at Footcandy shoe stores or through www.footcandyshoes.com or telephone: 877.517.4606.

The Juslyn Vineyard ‘Rescue’ blend can be ordered directly through Juslyn Vineyards on www.juslynvineyards.com , email: info@juslynvineyards.com or telephone 707.265.1804.

    Notes for Editors:

The Golden Triangle Asian Elephant foundation (GTAEF) aims to rescue elephants off the streets of Thailand . Asian elephants, which still roam wild in the Thai forests, played an important cultural and economic role for centuries. Valued for their strength and dexterous trunks, elephants once provided the main workforce in the teak forests of Northern Thailand helping transport timber but with cutbacks in teak foresting, elephants were no longer needed. Elephants are expensive to run and many elephant owners resort to taking their charges into big cities to get people to pay to touch, feed or play with their elephant, an illegal practise.  Walking in cities is undoubtedly not the life for an elephant. Within two years of its existence GTAEF has been able to rescue 11 babies and young adult elephants off city streets. They are now living in 200 acres of forest in the heart of the Golden Triangle and have an idyllic life with professional care and endless supplies of bananas and sugar cane. http://news.helpingelephants.org

Juslyn Vineywards: When British ex-patriots Perry and Carolyn Butler moved to California in 1982, they never dreamed they would own 42 acres of prime vineyard land in the heart of laceName w:st="on">NapalaceName> laceType w:st="on">ValleylaceType> . They arrived in California as high-tech pioneers and founded their own computer company in the laceName w:st="on">San FranciscolaceName> laceType w:st="on">BaylaceType> area. After routine 80-hour work weeks, the couple relaxed during weekend trips to laceName w:st="on">NapalaceName> laceType w:st="on">ValleylaceType> , where they were bitten by the wine bug. Dreams of high-tech dominance soon turned to thoughts of returning to the land and grape growing.

In 1997, their dream became a reality when Perry and Carolyn sold their computer business and founded Juslyn Vineyards on a site overlooking the renowned Spring Mountain Winery. (The name, Juslyn, is derived from the names, Justine-the Butlers ' daughter-and Carolyn.) In 1998, they made their first vintage of Juslyn from grapes purchased from Andy Beckstoffer as they waited patiently for their own vines to mature. Their patience paid in 2000, when they were able to harvest their estate for the first time to produce 80 cases of laceType w:st="on">SpringlaceType> laceType w:st="on">MountainlaceType> cabernet sauvignon.

Since then, there has been no turning back. Perry and Carolyn have committed to making the best wine possible in the heart of laceName w:st="on">NapalaceName> laceType w:st="on">ValleylaceType> 's acclaimed Spring Mountain District. Having received 90+points from accredited publications like Robert Parker's Wine Advocate and Wine and Spirits Magazine, the Butler 's are proving that they are on the path of success and truly living the American dream.
