Do not belittle yourselves by reading this article (puerile mickey taking)

I am so, so sorry to let the high principles of this blog drop into childish mickey taking of highly intelligent folks who have the guts to write in a foreign language - anyone who has every heard me massacre Thai (and regular readers will attest to my ability to rough up English a little too) will know that I do not have a leg to stand on.

But every now and then something crops up that is so close to home and makes me laugh so much it just has to be shared - besides, I detect that the correspondent below wrote in Thai and then fed the whole script into a translation robot and so I am taking the mickey out of Microsoft and not a brave public servant to his best to inform, educate and entertain.

A website has been launched to explain "Surin home of the elephant in Thailand" and as most of my staff, the families that make up camp (now the school holidays are in full force we have 30 Surin-ites, actually mostly Suay, of all ages) I from that area I thought I'd better take a gander; Of the province I learned...

"It is well known, locally and international, for its elephant. The colossal horrid of Surin impresses everyone with loveliness, smartness and creates specific proclivity of the province. Surin rabble have long relationship with elephant which becomes icon of the province now."

So, having ridiculed those less proficient than myself in a language I just happened to grow up with, thoroughly ashamed but still giggling I am off to address the rabble about the care of our colossal horrid.
