The space age comes to the ele camp (checkin' the chickens by remote control!)

Pine for your thick skinned friends?  About to come out and ride but worried your friends won't believe you've been up on an ele?  Convinced that all I do all day is hang out in a hammock stealing the babies' bananas?  Need to come away on an executive retreat or finish that novel amidst the flapping of ears and banging of trunks?

Well, worry no more, thanks to the wonders of modern technology and a fair bit of good old fashioned digging I reckon the Anantara camp can claim to be amongst the first wireless hotspot elephant camps in the world and there's a seat in our viewing sala for you and your computer (though you may have to mind the kids or put up with Lynchee trying to steal your best ideas).

Better still, we now have two web-cams, one realistically refreshing every 60 seconds so your computer department can't question what you get up to in work hours and one live streaming for those of you who are the boss - or are just not worried.

Anyway, studies have shown that watching elephants whilst at work can increase productivity by at least 20% - for trained mahouts anyway.

They are both linked from the sidebar of http://news.helpingelephants.org or from the ele-news page of www.helpingelephants.org - so feel free to fire 'em up and watch us at it.

In the meantime, to prove we've been busy not just performing for the cameras we have also joined forces with universally acknowledged travelling Graffiti Artist Cheryl 'Ches' MacQueen and development guru turned photographer Paul Rogers to produce range of Golden Triangle Asian Elephant Foundation casual fashion, a range of t-shirts to further the cause...

...by Paul Rogers (the photos are in black and white, with a Golden Triangle on the sleeve and our "Helping Elephants that Cannot Help Themselves" motto on the back) we have...

...young Lynchee...

...Pumpui drinking with K. Pom.

From the brush of Cheryl MacQueen (in full colour) we have...

..."Elephant Snack" and...

..."Mahout" - this one is also in full cartoon colour - I'll get some good photographs just as soon as I find some good models!

For those of you who, understandably, decide you cannot live without having one of these I can arrange mail order for 500 baht + VAT per shirt plus postage and packaging at 700 baht per order of up to ten shirts - the profits going to the GTAEF.  Better still, save the P&P and come on out yourselves.

We currently have shirts in the following (foreigner) sizes:

Lynchee - XXL, XL, L, M
Pumpui - XXL, XL, L, M, S, SS
Snacking Ele - XXL, XL, L, M, S, SS
Mahout - XXL, XL, L, M, S, SS

Just send me a message via the contact page and submit the form!
