Keeping an elephant in your garden (the easy way)
It has never been easier to keep an elephant in your garden! So says the new website of John and Joy Cox, our friends the sculptors and bronze workers, and indeed Plai Tawan's future ego now takes pride of place on the front page of that site.
The original statue was installed in the Anantara lotus pond some months ago and has proved a hit with the guests, Lawan has taken a bit of a shine to him even as it takes the gardeners' elbow grease to shine him.
The best news of all is that you can buy your own version of this statue and for every one sold £500 will be donated to the Foundation by the Cox's company - UK Bronze - so, without further ado I will commend you to the Cox's website www.ukbronze.co.uk where Tawan is available amongst a menagerie of other bronze animals and classical statues, none of which eat as much or will get into as much trouble as the real little elephant himself.
Talking of trouble, Nong Lynchee will be the company's next project - I only hope I don't have to measure her up again as she's two months stronger than she was last time I tried (and failed). Only yesterday she distinguished herself at her filming debut by attacking a renowned Hong Kong beauty and, until Lynchee arrived, star of the show.
If Lawan stopped being jealous of the baby for thirty seconds she'd be impressed at the continuing tradition of film crew harassment in the Anantara camp!
