Hello Magazine reports on Royal Topiary, the biggest press for the smallest elephant!

Dear All

Thanks to some exhaustive research by long term supporters and going on 17 day mahouts Shirley and Derek Baker we have discovered some pic.s from the grand event that raised the money to keep Pang Lynchee causing havoc and laundry in our camp but off the streets.

For those of you whose copy was lost in the mail, the text read:

CHARLES AND CAMILLA

HEED THE CALL OF THE WILD BY ATTENDING A JUMBO FUNDRAISER

The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall headed an impressive roll call of glamorous guests at a lavish event held in Richmond to raise funds for endangered Asian elephants.
The Royal couple were greeted by the sight of a family of life-size topiary elephants as they arrived at the black-tie bash at Petersham House, with the flora-and-fauna loving Prince unable to resist stroking one of the grassy trunks as he and Camilla, in a stunning blue beaded coat (JR comments: such detail! you never normally get this), posed for photographs.
Helping to make it a happy family outing were the Princess's children Tom and Laara, as well as Prince and Princess Michael of Kent's daughter Lady Gabriella Windsor.
It was Elephant Family, a charity set up three years ago to help save wild elephants across Asia by Camilla's brother, the conservationist Mark Shand, who organised the gala.
The Charity counts Hollywood star Goldie Hawn as one of its patrons, and among the famous faces lending their celebrity weight to the £1,000-a-ticket party were Stephen Fry, Jemima Khan, Anjelica Huston and Rob Lowe.
An auction hosted by Southeby's chairman Henry Wyndham was the highlight of the event, with lots including a tractor-load of elephant dung, an afternoon in the nets with Aussie cricketer Shane Warne, and a chance to own an Asian elephant and its baby (JR Comments: Guess who!?).  For his part, the Prince had donated a tour of his Highgrove residence to the auction, which was followed by a sumptuous Indian banquet.
Of course, Charles knows a thing or two about fundraising.  His charities raised £110 million last year, a fact revealed when he became the first senior member of the Royal Family to make his tax bill public.
