Time for a word with Ganesh!

Dear All

Just a very short note to let you know that our friends from Elephant Family are holding their major black tie auction this evening, the great and the good will be coming together to raise money to help Asian elephants in countries across the range, including Thailand.  The guest list is pretty impressive, so keep your eyes on the media over the next few days.

They will be auctioning many unique prizes donated from elephant lovers in all quarters and Anantara and Four Seasons have been no exception in offering an amazing elephant themed holiday in Thailand.

So we wish them every success for the big night and hope that as well as enjoying themselves they manage to make a tonne of money for elephant projects throughout Asia.

Many thanks

John

PS.  Another bird photo - a red-whiskered bulbul this time, one you'll recognise as the garden has always been full of them, but this one has decided to nest next to our Conference room and so had given up her right to privacy!

Good luck to Elephant Family with the auction. We saw it advertised on their website.
Nice piccy of the red-whiskered bulbul. We bought a book on the birds of South-east Asia when we first started coming to the Golden Triangle, but found that the little blighters wouldn't sit still long enough to be looked up and identified, so the bulbul is one of the few locals we can recognise.

...there are a lot out there - hopefully more with every year the hunting is stopped - but none of them sit still for long.  I think I've got all the big and colouful ones and now I need a proper birder to get the little drab ones.  There is an amateur bird list (put together with a little help from friends) linked from www.helpingelephants.org.
